Do I still need it if I already use a beard shampoo?

Yes, because they do two different jobs: the shampoo washes the hair, CLEANSE cleanses the skin underneath, and that is where sebum and residue from the previous day's beard products build up. With a long beard the technique changes slightly: work with your fingertips until you can feel the skin, don't stop at the hair. The order is beard shampoo first, CLEANSE second.
